Verify the App Store Listing
Available exclusively on the App StoreDownload on the App Store
A paid app, purchased once and available only on the App Store. Check the store and app details before confirming your purchase.
Check the App Store listing for the price, system requirements, and purchase availability. Buying the app ≠ buying a connection plan. You’ll need your own existing subscription or server details to connect.
App Store & account region
Shadowrocket isn’t available on the mainland China App Store. Check the country or region of the account you use for purchases, then confirm whether Shadowrocket is available in that store.
The App Store listings you see depend on the country or region associated with your Apple Account, not the language of the web page. Using a device in Chinese or opening the US product page doesn’t determine which store your account uses. The button on this page links to Shadowrocket’s US App Store listing, but us in the URL won’t change your account’s region. Follow the App Store prompts shown for your account.
First, check the account under “Media & Purchases”
On your device, go to “Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region.” Menu names may vary slightly by system version; follow the account screen shown on your device. Check the account used for App Store purchases, not just the iCloud account shown at the top of Settings. They may be different accounts.
To find the region change option, go to “Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region → Change Country or Region.” This shows where to find the option; whether you can proceed depends on the conditions Apple displays. Account balance, active subscriptions, Family Sharing status, payment methods, and billing details may affect the process. Review each system prompt.
Troubleshoot search results and purchase issues separately
If you can’t find the app, check your store region and search for its full English name. If the product page opens but you can’t buy it, check the payment and account messages. Changing your search terms repeatedly won’t resolve account eligibility issues. If the message says the app isn’t available in your region, check your account details rather than the page or device language.
Before buying, review the product page’s compatibility, price, and developer information. If everything matches what you expect, continue to checkout in the App Store. Apple processes payment authorization; this manual provides verification and purchase guidance but doesn’t collect payment for the app.
Verify the official Shadowrocket app
The app name is only the first clue. Check that the developer, official icon, and app ID all match.
Developer: Check the full name
In the product page’s information section, check that the developer or seller is Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Don’t rely on Shadowrocket appearing in a search result title, or on similar spellings or feature descriptions. Search results may include apps with similar names, so open the product page and check its details.
Icon: a blue-and-purple outlined rocket on white
Compare the icon with the official one at the top of this page: a blue-and-purple outlined rocket on a white background. Use the icon as one verification clue, not as the sole basis for a purchase. Even if a search result looks similar, check the developer and app ID too. The icon shown here matches the official App Store artwork.
App ID: 932747118
The App Store link on this page ends with id932747118; the number is the app ID. When checking a product link someone shared with you, confirm that it uses this ID instead of relying on the link title. Check the name, icon, developer, and ID together; ratings, rankings, and promotional copy aren’t needed for verification.
After installing, check Home and Add Server
The two images on the right are official App Store screenshots. Home shows Not Connected, Global Routing, Connectivity Test, and SERVER with Add Server. Add Server shows fields such as Type, Host, Port, Password, and Method. These screenshots help you locate interface elements; they don’t mean the app comes with a ready-to-use server.
The examples in the official screenshots aren’t connection details you can use. The fields shown may change depending on options such as Type, and the interface may change with app updates. Refer to the current app for its layout. To verify the app, focus on where you purchased it and the three details above. For instructions on importing your own configuration, see the first connection guide.
Buy and open Shadowrocket on iPhone
After verifying the App Store listing, buy the app there and wait for it to finish installing. Then prepare your personal configuration.
Open the Shadowrocket App Store page from this site and check the app name, developer, and price. If the button shows a price, follow the system prompts to confirm payment. A cloud icon usually means the current account has a purchase record. “Open” means the app is already installed on your device. If the button differs from what you see in a guide, check your device and account before attempting to buy again.
Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements. Before buying, expand the product page’s compatibility details rather than relying only on your device model. If the App Store says your current system isn’t compatible, read the message and check for available system updates. Don’t use system version numbers from older guides as a current installation requirement.
Installing the app doesn’t mean you’re connected
When you first open the app, check Home. You’ll need to import your own existing subscription or server details before setting up a connection. To enter details manually, go to Add Server and check Type, Host, Port, and the relevant authentication fields for your protocol. See the guide for instructions on importing an existing subscription. Treat subscription URLs and authentication details as private; avoid sharing them in full when troubleshooting.
When you enable a connection for the first time, iOS may ask permission to add a VPN configuration. This is system authorization for a network settings change, not a second app purchase. Make sure you initiated the action and check the app name in the prompt before deciding whether to allow it. You don’t need to enable a connection to complete your purchase.
If the app stays pending during installation, check your device’s network connection, available storage, and App Store account messages. If the app opens but won’t connect, check your personal configuration, Global Routing, and connection logs instead. Treat an App Store installation issue separately from a configuration or connection issue to avoid repeating the wrong steps.
iPad and other Apple devices
iPhone and iPad purchases use the same Apple Account purchase history. Check app eligibility and personal configuration separately.
If you bought Shadowrocket on iPhone, sign in to the App Store on your iPad with the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Find the app in Purchased and download it again. One purchase with the same account covers iPhone and iPad. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements and purchase availability. If you still see a price, check that the account under Media & Purchases matches the original purchase.
An iPad’s screen differs from an iPhone’s, so the visible area, list layout, and menu locations may vary with orientation and app version. Look for interface labels such as Home, Config, Settings, and Add Server rather than matching screenshot coordinates. The official screenshots on this page help identify feature names; they don’t prescribe the layout on every device.
After installing on iPad, you’ll still need to import your own subscription, server details, or configuration. A purchase record confirms your eligibility to get the app; it doesn’t automatically copy all settings from another device. If you use iCloud sync, check the relevant in-app settings and account status, then make sure the content actually appears on the new device.
Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision
The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Find Shadowrocket in the App Store on the relevant device. Check the listing for universal purchase availability and system requirements. Don’t assume compatibility on every device just because the app is installed on iPhone, or apply the iPhone steps on this page to other devices without checking their actual interface.
Restore purchases on a new device
Restore the app first, then restore your configuration. They rely on different records and should be troubleshot separately.
Get the app with the original purchase account
On your new device, open “App Store → Account → Purchased.” Depending on your system version, the purchase list may be under “Apps” or another menu. Find Shadowrocket, check that the developer and app ID match, then tap the cloud icon to redownload it. Use the Apple Account from the original purchase to restore an eligible app without paying again.
If the app isn’t in the list, check the account currently used for Media & Purchases, your purchase history, and whether you’ve hidden the item. Signing in to the original iCloud account doesn’t necessarily mean you’re using the same account for App Store purchases. If you’ve changed your account’s region, check whether the app is available in the current store. Confirm separately that the purchase exists and that the app can be redownloaded on your device.
After reinstalling, import your own connection details
Redownloading restores the app itself; it doesn’t guarantee that your personal subscription or local configuration has been restored. Open Home and check the SERVER list, then check whether the configuration you need is in Config. If your details are incomplete, restore them from a configuration you saved or from your existing service information. Don’t copy field values from a screenshot.
Before switching devices, check that your subscription still works on the old device and know how you’ve saved your configuration. Check your iCloud sync status or the app’s configuration export option, and store files containing credentials securely. After importing on the new device, check Global Routing and test the connection. For detailed steps, see configuration backup and device migration guide.
Check the current App Store listing and Family Sharing purchase settings to see whether sharing applies. A family member’s access to a purchase doesn’t mean your configuration has been synced. Purchase eligibility, device compatibility, and personal connection details are three separate things to check. If the App Store charged you but still asks you to buy the app, check the order and account first, then follow Apple’s account support process.
Price and one-time purchase
The US App Store reference price is $2.99 as a one-time purchase. Prices may appear in local currencies and vary by store; check the App Store listing for the amount charged.
Shadowrocket is a paid commercial app available for a one-time purchase, with no monthly app fee. Prices and currencies vary by country or region. Before paying, check the product page and the amount shown in the system confirmation. The price on this page explains the purchase model; the current App Store price is the one that applies.
After buying the app, you may still need to add details to the SERVER list. This is expected because the client and connection services are separate. Check the validity, authentication status, and availability of your existing subscription using your own service information. Buying the app again won’t fix a server address, authentication parameter, or service issue.
Update and reinstall through the App Store
Update the installed app through the App Store, using automatic updates or checking manually in your device settings. Use the product page’s update history, compatibility details, and purchase information as your reference; this site’s description of the interface isn’t a promise about the current version. When switching devices or reinstalling, start with Purchased under the original purchase account.
If you’re having a settings issue, record your current configuration first, then check the relevant options in the Settings reference. Don’t start by deleting the app. Reinstalling may affect locally saved content, while a purchase record only confirms your eligibility to get the app. Check your backup and restore options first to reduce repeated work during troubleshooting or device migration.
Download and purchase FAQ
First identify whether the issue is with the store, your purchase history, or the app configuration, then follow the relevant checks.
Why can’t I find Shadowrocket on the App Store?
Shadowrocket isn’t available on the mainland China App Store. The country or region associated with your Apple Account determines which store you see. Check the country or region under Media & Purchases, then confirm that the product page is available. The “us” in a web link doesn’t change your account’s store region. Any region change is subject to the conditions Apple displays.
Why can’t I download Shadowrocket after finding its App Store page?
Check the App Store message, then review your account region, payment status, device compatibility, available storage, and network connection. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements. If you’ve been charged but still see a price, check your purchase history and the account under Media & Purchases before trying to pay again.
Do I have to pay again when I get a new iPhone?
Sign in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase, then find Shadowrocket in your App Store account’s purchased items and download it again. You shouldn’t need to buy it again. Redownloading depends on the purchase being associated with that account and the app remaining available for your store and device. Restoring the app and restoring your personal configuration are separate steps.
Can I install Shadowrocket on iPad, and do I need to buy it separately?
Shadowrocket supports iPhone and iPad. After purchasing with an Apple Account, you can redownload it from the Purchased section of the App Store on your iPad. Check the App Store listing for system requirements and purchase availability. Import or restore your personal subscriptions and configuration separately.
Where can I get Shadowrocket for Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?
The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Find Shadowrocket in the App Store on the relevant device. Check the listing for universal purchase availability and system requirements.
The app interface is in English. How do I follow the instructions?
This page and the official manual retain English interface labels such as Home, Add Server, Config, and Settings so you can find them by name. The official screenshots on this page show the English interface. Display language doesn’t verify authenticity; check the developer, official icon, and app ID.
